Arion Communications help children develop a love for reading
27 February 2020
The team at Arion Communications are passionate about reading and writing, and we love sharing this passion with others.
The Look Forward Creativity Centre caught the team’s attention with their mission of giving children a better life. These children have been abandoned, neglected, abused and orphaned, and the centre provides a home for them and gives them an abundance of love and care.
We read the book ‘The Little Engine That Could’ to the children at the centre. The book is about a stranded train who is unable to find an engine willing to take it over difficult terrain to its destination. Only the little blue train is willing to try and, while repeating the mantra “I think I can, I think I can” overcomes this seemingly impossible task.
It was heart-warming to see the children’s faces light up when the story was finished, and the little train was waiting for them outside.
Our highlight of the day was when all the children started singing “I think I can… I think I can” as the train moved forward.
